New City Catechism Q&A 3
Question 2: How many persons are there in God? There are three persons in one God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The lesson aims to help children understand that God is three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God and there is only one God. A correct understanding of the Trinity is essential to right worship. (2 Corinthians 13:5-14)

God can Always be Trusted (Jeremiah 31)
Bible Story Summary: Jeremiah was a prophet to God’s people around the time of the Babylonian exile. Through Jeremiah, God said He would bring His people back together and comfort them. God promised a future and a hope. Jeremiah said God would give them a new covenant to save them from their sins.
Big Picture Q&A: Can God be trusted? Yes, God cannot lie or ever be wrong, so we can trust whatever He has said.
Christ Connection: God’s words brought hope to God’s people because His words were true. God can always be trusted. Jeremiah told about a day when God would forgive sin and change people’s hearts. Jesus’ death and resurrection provides forgiveness of sins. Through Jesus, we have new hearts and life with God forever.
Family Discussion Starters:
What were some of the hopeful promises that God shared with the Israelite families?
How is the new covenant different from the old covenant?
Family Activity: Put together care packages for a local shelter. Include items like socks, a toothbrush, hand warmers, granola bars, and a note of encouragement. Talk with kids about how God promised to be a comfort to His people and how His people can be a comfort to others.

Ten Ways to be Perfect
Pg. 100-107 | Exodus 16-17 | Video
Introduction: God rescued His people and now He wants to show them how to live wisely. The Ten Commandments were not created to rescue the people from their sins, but to help them have true joy and a great relationship with Him. We follow God’s rules as a response to His love and wisdom. Help your children see the right motivation for their actions.
Big Truth: God loves His Children
All that God does and all that God commands for His children stems from His love. No matter what happens in this life, we can trust that God is perfectly loving towards His children.
Activity: Sing “Love the Lord” and explain to your child that we follow God’s rules out of love and thankfulness for who He is and what He has done for us through Jesus.

Deborah & the Very Big Battle
This is a true story from the Bible about how God’s people stopped listening to God and got into a LOT of TROUBLE. When God speaks, we must always listen carefully and do what he says. We can always trust what God says because we know that he loves his people and that his words are always true.
Play: Play Simon Says with the kids. Tell them that listening to and obeying God is the most important thing we can do. We can listen to him by reading his word from the Bible and praying to him.

This book presents words and phrases that relate to the gospel: God, man, rebellion, punishment, Jesus, perfect man, sacrifice, resurrection, response, eternal life.. From these pages, our Littles are learning foundational truths about how much God loves them.
WRL Babies
God hears me.
This week’s lesson for our babies is “God hears me.” Just like your child can hear your voice, God can hear her voices as well. Talk with talk with your child and as she “talks” back, tell her how much you love hearing her voice. Tell her that God also loves to hear her voice and she can talk to Him at anytime. Pray the Lord’s Prayer over your child, demonstrating a way we can pray to God, trusting that He hears us.
