Ezra Reads the Law (Ezra 7-10; Nehemiah 8)
Bible Story Summary: A teacher named Ezra read God’s words to the people in Jerusalem. Men, women, and children came to listen. All the people bowed down and worshiped God together. The leaders helped the people understand God’s words. The people were sad when they realized they had sinned against God.
Big Picture Q&A: How should we feel when we sin? When we sin, we should feel sorry that we have disobeyed God and want to turn from our sin because we love Him.
Christ Connection: God’s Word is powerful. When Ezra read God’s Word, the people loved God more and changed their ways. The Bible says that Jesus is “the Word.” Jesus is God who came to live with people on earth. Jesus has the power to change our hearts.
Family Discussion Starters:
How did the people show respect for God’s Word when Ezra was reading it?
What did the people do after they finished hearing God’s Word?
Family Activity: Throw a party to celebrate God’s work in your family. Decorate, make a treat, and sing worship songs as a family. Take turns telling stories and naming specific things God has done for you in this past year.

The Good Shepherd
Pg. 130-135 | Psalm 51, 23; 2 Samuel 7 | Video
Introduction: Although David made many mistakes, his constant return and dependence on the Lord is recorded in the Psalms. God’s providence and our dependence is shown through these writings. David uses imagery to point to our need for a perfect leader. Jesus is the ultimate shepherd as He guides us and gave His own life for us as a good shepherd would do for his flock.
Big Truth: God wants to talk to us
God wants a relationship with us. A great way to pursue this is prayer. God is a loving Father who delights in talking with His children. We can pray anytime, anywhere. Prayer is an opportunity to pour out our hearts to God.
Activity: Sing the song “He’s Got the Whole World” and explain that God cares about each of us like a shepherd does for his sheep.

Esther and the Very Brave Plan
“Maybe this is the reason you are queen – for such a time as this.” Esther 4:14
In this lesson, our Littles learned “God has plans for me” by reading Esther and the Very Brave Plan.
Play: Plan and throw a little family party, allowing your two year old to make the plans. Decorate how he or she wants, and allow him or her to decide the menu, games, etc. Talk with your child about how God has good plans for him or her, and say a prayer of thanks for God’s plan of sending Jesus as our rescuer!

Holy Week: An Emotions Primer
Our biblical lesson for the week is: Jesus is alive! We read Holy Week, which presents different emotions and passages that relate to them throughout the Bible. As you go throughout the week, point out different emotions your Littles are exhibiting and explain that you also have emotions and so does Jesus! Tell them that Jesus is alive and cares about how they feel.
WRL Babies
The Bible Tells about God
This week’s biblical concept for our babies is “The Bible tells about God.” We can begin introducing our Littles to the truths of the Bible even at their very young age.
Tell your Littles that everything in the Bible is true and tells us about God.
Pray over them that the Holy Spirit would reveal truth from the youngest age, and that they wouldn’t remember a day they weren’t walking with God.
