Jesus’ Miracles Prove He is God (John 14)
Bible Story Summary: Jesus’ disciples were worried because Jesus was going away soon. They could not go where He was going. Jesus told His disciples to not worry. He said, “Believe in God, and believe in Me.” Jesus said He would come back one day so they can be with Him. Jesus told His disciples to believe in His words and His miracles. Jesus would send the Holy Spirit to help them remember everything He told them.
Big Picture Q&A: Is Jesus God or a human? As the Son of God, Jesus is both fully God and fully human.
Christ Connection: God has always existed as three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father sent the Son to rescue us from sin. He gives us the Holy Spirit to comfort us, show us our sins, and guide us as we live for God’s glory.
Family Discussion Starters:
- How did Jesus’ miracles prove He is God?
- Who was Jesus going to send after He went away to heaven? Why did Jesus send Him?
Family Activity: Create a map of your home with a specific path to find a hidden treasure (e.g., candy). Help kids follow the path. Celebrate when you find the hidden treasure. Read John 14:6 and discuss how Jesus is the only way to the Father. Remind kids that Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit to lead us in truth just as you helped them follow the path.

Summary: Jesus showed the love of God by taking away people’s physical hunger, just as He would soon take away our sin! Jesus is God and He loves and provides for His most valued creation, us!
Big Truth: God sent a Savior
Our hearts are broken and our world is broken. Because we can’t fix things, we need a savior to make things right and restore relationships. Thankfully, God sent Jesus and the victory over sin and death is already won!
Activity: Sing “Jesus Loves Me” and explain that by providing for us, God is showing us how much He loves and cares for us.

Jonah and the Very Big Whale
Jonah disobeyed God’s call to go to Nineveh and tell them to repent, or change their sinful ways. Jonah tries to flee from God but God redirects his plans and Jonah ends up in Nineveh anyways. When God shows mercy to Nineveh because they repent, Jonah is upset. God has shows us great mercy and accepts Jesus’ punishment on the cross instead of punishing us.
Play: Play Simon Says with your kids and tell them that listening to God is the most important thing we can do. We can listen to him by reading his word from the Bible and praying to him.

Big Theology for Little Hearts: GOD
Our lesson for Sunday was “God is good” and we read GOD by Devon Provencher.
Through this lesson, we learned that God is Creator, King, Trinity, Holy, Eternal, Unchanging, Just, Good, Loving, and worthy of all Glory.
As you go throughout your week, notice when you encounter the different aspects of who God is and point those truths out to your child. Have a fun dance session with this song.
WRL Babies
The Bible Tells about God
This week’s biblical concept for our babies is “The Bible tells about God.” We can begin introducing our Littles to the truths of the Bible even at their very young age.
Tell your Littles that everything in the Bible is true and tells us about God.
Pray over them that the Holy Spirit would reveal truth from the youngest age, and that they wouldn’t remember a day they weren’t walking with God.
